We’re just going to stop right there and give them the plug – run, don’t walk, and make the trip if you haven’t been. We’re huge fans of the Strawberry Festival, the vibrant main street with some of our favorite stops (did we mention Fish Hawk Acres chicken salad and strawberry shortcake lattes from Stone Tower Brews?) and the deep, refreshing swimming holes at Audra State Park. Upshur County is also known as being the home of West Virginia Wesleyan College and a popular destination for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Clearly, there’s a lot to love about Upshur County, so when the Upshur County CVB board members and Executive Director, Laura Meadows, decided they were ready for a travel guide revamp and a new website and reached out to us…we definitely fangirled – just a bit.

The organization is completely reliant upon digital platforms to serve as hubs for their inbound marketing pieces, since their primary audience is visitors to the area. They needed a travel guide and website where resources, information, trip planning tools and other creative content could be housed and organized.

Beginning as we always do, we sat down with Laura and her team and conceptualized the new travel guide. Once completed and off to print, we worked together to draft the perfect site map, or blueprint, for their new site. Upon approval of the site map, LMC conceptualized that blueprint into a homepage design that we all knew would hit our target audience’s needs because we started with that site map as our framework for the rest of the project.

LMC set out to create an exciting new look for Upshur County, through the design of their new travel guide. The fresh design encourages people to discover the charm and “Small Town Getaway” that Upshur County has to offer through promoting the area’s activities, events, shops and cozy overnight accommodations.

A fun, scripty font gets our message across to potential visitors. “Small Town Getaway, Big Time Charm” appears on the homepage of the UCCVB’s website, travel guide, rack card and other print and online advertisement mediums.

A happy client and a Gold ADDY Award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign later…we think we can conclude a project well done.

Custom Website Design & Development

LMC took a creative approach to the design and development of the Upshur CVB website. Visitors to the responsive website can see an array of tourism-related activities from Downtown Buckhannon to French Creek by navigating through five categories: Explore, Stay Over, Flavor, Shopping, and Meet Here. Each category is home to dozens of detailed listings for tourists to assist them in planning their trip.

The homepage features an immersive video experience for users to get a taste of the experience they’ll be in for once they arrive to Upshur County. A comprehensive Events page showcases the county’s jam-packed calendar of events.

The website, as a whole, paints a compelling, true picture of Upshur County. Features integrated into the new site included:
